RdsDec
Decode a sample bistream that has been recorded from a CONRAD RDS MANAGER connected on the COM port (for connection and interface details, see the esslinger RDSDec help file).

The code included show how to synchronize and decode the RDS bistream. The first version has no error detection.
The second one has error correction done with the resulting syndrom but there's still no resynchronization.

Bibliography:

  • Test program with sample input file and the resulting decoding RdsDec.v1.00.zip (373k).
  • Same test program with error correction for 1 bit errors RdsDec.v1.00b.zip (375k), 3 errors are detected and corrected from the sample input file.

RDSDec from esslinger is good decoder program that works fine with a modified Conrad RDS Manager (no longer produced, but can be purchased from ebay) or equivalent circuit.
